When I first heard about the ten year old dutch boy who survived such a horrendous crash when the plane was returning from the vacation from South Africa I was amazed.What amazed me more is that he was the only survivor in the crash.His mother,father and brother all died in the crash along with 103 others.Tears filled my eyes when I saw this story because I asked myself,How is this possible that among all the passengers on board in this plane,why only one passenger survived?I also so how is it possible for anyone to survive such a fatal accident?I then answered and say that is the wrok of the Almighty God.He is the one who protected that boy from dying.I believe everyone has a mission in life and until that mission in life is over then God’s decides when he is ready for you to die.I think the little boy survived for a reason,he a a living and true testimony of life and death.He escaped it and should give God thanks daily for sparing his life.I do think this accident will forever remain a scar in his life,it will be a nightmare to remember such a terrifying day.I felt his pain and anger this child must feel when he heard the that his parents and brother were among those who died in the accident.This is a very sad moment in his life but I do hope he will have a happy life and this will not cause him to life a depress life.I kept asking myself to put my foot in his shoes and I couldn’t image how horrible and devastated I would be if something like that ever happen to me.I know I was never in a situation like that so I cannot say that I know what the family is going through and the little boy is feeling but what I do know is that I feel his pain and I understand the seriouness of the situation.I personally say to myself that if that had happened to me,I would never be the same person again,I try imagining living life without my family but I can’t and the worst part is to see that they all died at once in an accident is even more sad and unbearable.I think I might have ended up in the insane instituation because I would have loosed my mind.I love my family with all my heart,they are my life,they are the reason I live,they are my true friends,the ones I turn to when I am in trouble,when I am sad or even when I am sad.How can I ever live without my family if they serve all these functions for me.They are ,my spine and foundation for who I am as an individual,they console me and advice me when needed and though we get our differences,at the end of the day we make up back.I am truly sorry for this boy and my sympathy goes out to the whole family,now at an early age being an orphan is very hard to adjust to.You may have to go live with a family member or new families.Sometimes orphans are mistreated in various families.You feel not welcomed and uncomfortable because the family you once had treated u a different way from the ones who now have.I truly hope that this child will have a speedy recovery and that he ends up in the hands of a responsible,loving,caring and kind family member.I hope he will be treated equally and I hope he make a difference in the world.May God be with those other people who lost their family on the accident and I hope you are comforted.I am so sorry for this boy but everything happens for a reason and I know my God is never a sleep.

A lot of people ask this question very often,my and many answers vary depending on the individual.First of all friendship must be genuine. In friendship we reveal what we are and who we are capable of becoming.Friendship demand that we reveal ourselves without pretences or masks.without affection or deception.I don’t have a problem with a man and woman becoming friends but I do believe it is awkward if you both have a spouse or partner of your own.I think there is no need of having this kind of bond with another sex because that’s the purpose you have a girlfriend or boyfriend,they suppose to be your friends,best friend and everything.However,I do think friendship between a man and woman several things must be considered:

Your mental and emotional make-u:It needs high level of maturity,understanding and trust for any couple to keep that thought of intimacy away from their heart throughout the relation.

The type of school and college you have studied in:If you have studied in all boys or all girls schools and colleges then there is a high chance that your relation with your counter part of opposite gender will not be clean and transparent as compared to those who have studied to co-ed system.

Number of  friends with the opposite sex:If you have more friends from the opposite gender then there is a chance that your friendship with those people will be clean without any thought of intimacy compare to those who have one or just limited friends in opposite gender.

Family background:If the family of more traditional with very strict value system then also at times there are chances that you cannot be just friends with a person from opposite gender.

Stage of life you are in:If you are facing lots of rejections,emotional instability,frustration,lots of struggle and if your performance is not appreciated by your bosses and colleagues then try to find the solace,that comfort by intimately getting involved because their you find acceptance and emotional comfort.

Profession you into and type of organization you are working in:This simply means if more females or males dominated a company or department there are also people who tend to get involved with people of opposite genders.

Successful happy married life and unsuccessful happy married life:If you don’t have successful and happy married life,you are not getting that time,care and affection as you want and if you have a friend from the opposite gender,who is taking care of you,giving you time,affection and emotional support,then also they are high chances of developing an intimate relationship.

Many young people today get the wrong idea of friendship,some of us even get intimate with friends and call it friends with benefit,I strongly do think it is up to the individual on if they can handle the pressures that having opposite gender may have.I do think that there is a barrier that we should never cross.In most situation opposite genders end up having feelings for each other.Being friends form a very special bonds and sometime this bond maybe so tight that it is hard to break and if we are not careful with our emotions and other factors,we might end up crossing the line between are we friends or we more than friends?That is a question we must should all keep in mind.I truly cannot speak for others but I can speak for myself I truly do not think a male and female can be friends because today a lot of infidelity are taking place and no one is mature enough to control their feelings because when something goes wrong in your relationships you first run to your so called friend of the opposite sex and they will be the ones to console you and try to make you feel good,in the long wrong many individuals start having a strong feeling or may I say look at the friend in a different way in terms of intimacy.Some people know how to keep the barriers but some cannot.

Ok we all heard about this story over the news,from the newspaper, or through gossip.I don’t mean to be mean but the first time I heard this story I laughed so loud because I could not believe what I was hearing and seeing with my eyes.But after that little laugh,I then said how sad it is for a father to trade his own daughter for beers?Is this what the world have become?A place where nothing has value and everything become useless and not important anymore?I could not believe not even to this day that someone in their right mind would ever think of doing such anus act to an innocent child especially your own flesh and blood.This is just sad and really sick my stomach to listen.I really don’t understand why would the mother leave her child with the father because it is clear the he is an alcoholic and that was under the influence of alcohol during this incident.I don’t know why a drunk would be trusted to look at a 3 month hold baby because someone under the influence is preone to do anus things.For a 24 year old man he sure look older than that,his life looks like a complete and mess.When I listened to the news the first question I asked myself was where is the mother?,because from what I heard was the the father(Mattew) place the baby in her stroller in a gas station employees truck stating that he wants to trade his baby for two 40 ounces bottles of beers.However,the man called the cops,he face the reckless endangerment of a child charges.When I heard that the child mother does not face any charges because police thinks that she did not know what was going on because she was in a store purchasing cigarettes,I was angry.I think that she should also be held liable for her child’s endangerment because she had to see that her husband or whoever he is was not stable,he was drunk and could a mother leave her baby in the arms of a drunk man?But the mother also sounds like him,they both sound like crack heads.But who am I to pass judgements?But what I do think,is that police should take the mother into investigation because maybe she also planned that act with her husband to trade their child.I really don’t know what to say about this,but I don’t think I need to say how horrible it is to try and sell your baby for beers but I think it’s apparent that these people were under the influence of something and need serious help.Theses people shouldn’t be allowed to have this child back until they are proven well fit and stable to take care of a baby.They valued their child’s life at two bottles of beers.This is sad that the baby came into the world with completely un fit parents and now that her parents have shown what they feel about her she won’t have to be subjected to the ever again.Maybe I’m being a bit harsh,judgemental,mean but I hate to see stupidity.I hate when grown folks act immature and childish.They should be example for younger generation not a disgrace to society.It such a shame that adults who are suppose to be role models do the stupidest things sometimes.As a father and mother they should be caring for their child,loving her and most of they should be the ones to protect her from danger and harm.But no they did the opposite,the father did the opposite,he was willing to give up his daughter,his own flesh and blood for stupid beers.How pathetic is that?He deserve whatever charge he gets but I also think he should seek help maybe he need to go to rehab for his drinking habit and the mother for her smoking problem.A child needs to be around a healthy and safe environment!.

Tip one,Tract sales:I usually tract when clothes go on sales.I know people may think I’m cheap but this is a recession and everyone is trying to save on every dollar they got. For example,if you’re in need of  new bathing suits for the next summer,you should start shopping for them in September or October.This is when the vast majority of stores have placed their bathing suits in stock on the clearance racks.Sure you can find these items on sale as early as July or August,but if you want to save the most money you should wait until they are 50%-75% off.You will not have a wide selection,but you can fins still find plenty of bathing suits in your size at amazing prices.The same goes for other clothing you need.Keep tract on when store have their big sales and then stock up.I does that all the time.

Tip two,Sizes: Most adults stay about the same size from year to year,so buying ahead of time is not a big deal.For kids,this can be a different story simply because they have growth spurts at different times.The rule of thumbs for buying for kids is buying big.If your child is currently 3T,then you will want to buy a 4T for next year and maybe even  5T if it’s clothing for latter end of the year.Clothes that are a little big are not difficult to hem and wear.However,clothes that are too small,just won’t work!

Tip three,List the store:There are many stores that get rid of their summer clothes really early to make room for fall clothes and vice versa.However,there are the stores that would usually hold onto these items and keep mark down.These are the stores you you want to shop at because you can find some sandals in December and sweaters in July.Start shopping in these and not only you will be able to purchase name brands,but you will be able to do so at an amazing discount.This is my lifestyle I’ve shared with you people.This is the way I learned to save money because time like these it is not wise to be spending your money in all the wrong places and for all the wrong reason.We have to learn how to spend wising and still be able to save money at the end of the day.Shopping and leaving yourself broke at the end of the day is not doing anything for you.We should spend according to our budget.

We say natural hair is beautiful but why do we need a perm to fit into this modern day high fashion society? I’ve saw a lot of African American women with hair on their necks or chin length and all broken off and split ends,then I see African American sisters sporting natural hair,and it is so long,full and healthy,I then did some research and you know how white people hair seems like it grows long,it’s because they do not perm their hair straight thus no chemical and african americans with natural hair grows just as long as white people hair, though it looks shorter unless you stretch it or press it out. I really think natural hair looks better, but it depends. I agree that permed hair looks nice on some people if they know how to manage and care for it. But split ends and breaking off don’t look very nice. Natural hair can be worn in any way… and you get to be different than most people. And you don’t have to worry about getting perms all the time and getting your hair wet and damaged.This is a recession and we all are trying to cut down on our spending, and natural hair would work best.Today a lot of people judge us on the way we look and because one person has straight hair and the other permed hair they might pass judgements. I think natural hair is very beautiful and liberating and it’s a personal choice on what you do with your hair.

I am only writing this blog because one day I was in a train and one girl turned to her friends and said “I am cutting my permed hair to go back natural” her friends then looked at her like she was speaking another language and asked her if she’s crazy.I don’t know why it’s such a big deal to some people whether you like your hair natural,curled,permed,texturized etc. But here are my ideas on why  natural is good:

No more chemical application:Means less expensive and time-consuming hair salon visits.

Faster Growth:Many people with natural hair reported that they experience less hair breakage and faster growth since they stopped using hair chemicals.

Thicker hair:Maintaining your hair naturally curly, coily or kinky. brings your hair new-found thickness that non straighten hair does not have.

People please do not take me wrong, black women have the ability to change hair styles like underwear, so I support you women no matter what and having a perm does not make you less black either but i am sick and tired of people judging each other on the way they look,we all say we live in an equal world but actually we don’t.For example a black woman who goes for an interview for a job on wall street with her natural hair would be looked upon differently from a black woman with straightened out hair. It is like a man wanting to wear his piercings in the work place.Another point is the work place is one of the biggest place where many people get judged.

I could go on to say more but my point is love your hair no matter what race you are and stop judging someone who looks different or wear their hair different from you.Every woman should absolutely love their hair.Black women should love their natural hair regardless of the negativity and backlash you may receive from rocking your natural hair in its natural glory.People are going to say things that will hurt you,but when you hear negativity you should block it out.

Society today has nearly immersed itself in technology. It is a normal everyday part of our lives.But does that technology empowers us or have power over us?The answer to this question will be different for everyone,you may answer it differently depending on your mood of the day.For example,I think fancy phones that have internet capabilities are amazing and very convenient.It can be beneficial to have this great resource at you finger tips.However,it is very inconvenient when your work is aware of your capabilities and you’re expected to answers emails even when your on holiday.

I also think it depends on your age.How amazing is it that there are now navigation systems?This technology will keep us from getting lost or having to stop for directions,Unless of coarse if breakdown we’re on a trip.Before this technology,people use maps for direction but as the world move on,technology becomes stronger and people stop using manual things and depends more on machanical and technological things.Now  you may discover that this technology that had empowered us to travel without a worry may taken power from you.They are those who are for and against technology,but I think the key is to learn to use technology as a tool and not depend on it heavily.I personally would be lost without my computer.

The internet is one of the technology that empowers me.It is very useful and it is the art of America’s technological industry.It helps us to become more productive,communicate with others and the work it will take five or more people to do, it now takes one person to do it in minutes or even seconds on the internet.The internet is not only for information but also a form of business,work and many many more stuff.I don’t know what we will do if we did not had the internet.Without reading a full book,one can go on the internet and have a quick summary on what the book entails.You can also have online audio  books online if you want.Because of America’s high tech devices and internet,it is one of  the largest growing country.

Now a days, technology is a great way to escape from reality and a way to be role models of some sort.You can present yourself in a new,confident way.Technology brings you power and encouragements in the society,it make things work great and are possible for many things you may think of that would be impossible to achieve.It is technology which sped up our lives,;it is technology which brought distant location closer and made the world a smaller place to live.Thanks to technology,most of the critical and time consuming processes have been automated.Machines have begun executing laborious,repetitive tasks.People do not have to slog to the extent they did before the  invention of technology.

I think all technology is empowering.The simple fact that I can write my thoughts about any given topic and posts them for the world to see (ok my blogs) to see this is empowering. Right now I don’t know how many readers I have,if any are repeated readers,on any of my blogs…it is empowering to me.I also enjoy all types of new technology:new computers,cell phones,software,websites,plug-ins, pretty much everything.If I can get my hands on it and it’s compatible with my lap top,I’ll play with it and try to figure it out and make it useful or at least useful to me.

Im still waiting for a technology to be intrioduced that will be more advanced,more useful and informative than the internet.That will be something worth inventing.What piece of technology can you live without?Has technology empowered you or does it have power over you?

I often ask myself this question:How did I become such an outspoken,bold and very confident person.Growing up,I was always the child who never says much,very quiet,very shy and most of all the teachers pet.I would mostly consider myself back then as an antisocial person.I was the type of person who my parents would think I can harm no fly.Whenever I do something bad my big brother was the one who got the blame,sometimes if I stole a chicken out of the pot,my parents would think it’s my brother and not me.After they are gone,I would stick my tongue out at him and laughed.He wanted to beat me up many of times because I usually get him into trouble.I remember those days as if it was yesterday and to this day my brother and I laugh it over.My parents on the other hand felt that they didn’t know who I was at all and thought that,I was an adopted child because the child they know would have not behaved in such manner.

My parents always treated me like an angel.However,the tables started to turn when I migrated to the US.At first I was still a shy and quiet child.When I got into to the high school here,I felt so alone and I didn’t fit in with my peers.I don’t remember how I made the transition from the girl next door to the girl who is very assertive but I did.My family were the first ones to realize that i was no longer the girl I used to be.I started to say whatever comes to mind,I became very opinionated and I never take no for an answer.They didn’t understand the person i’ve become but I love me.To this day I am still confused of how I went from shy to less shy.But what I do know is: I would not change who I’ve become for no one because living in a competitive world like the US, we have to be confident,opinionated at times and outspoken or else people will walk all over you.Being shy can be a real issue especially in the day to day society,I am happy I came out of my comfort zone of being shy and scared to talk to people and scared to share my opinions.I think shy can be a real issues for people who never transition from shy to bold.Shy people do not learn must because they live in this enclosed box.There true feelings and opinions are never expressed and this can be bad because we all are human and we all want to be heard and have friends and socialization.So if you are shy I urge you to take one step at a time and stop being sacred of talking.Be confident!

I’ve also realized that the more advanced the phones become,the less use of calling each other for direct contact it gets.I often wonder why we call it a phone if we rather text someone instead of making a phone call.

My dad was one of the people who never understand why my sister and I spends whole day texting on our phone.He thought texting was a big waste of time and makes no sense of taking up someones time.He was getting to the point where he wanted to stop paying for our cell phones services because he was getting really annoyed with texting and the obsession my sister and I over our cell phones.I personally cannot go a day without my cell phone so his treat kind of worked for couple days,we decided to ease down on the texting because he had treaten to cut out phones off.We often told him that, texting is an easier and fastest way of communicating with someone rather than making a phone call.We also explained to him that when we text ,we can do a lot of things at the same time while communicating with our friends and families. My dad always bought phone cards to call my mom in Guyana,so we told him he could get the international plan for his phone to text all he wants without wasting money to buy phone cards everyday to call my mom.Ofcourse he refused couple of times but after he got tired of my sister n I bothering him,he decided to pay for the international phone plan and started to text my mom.After a week he told us “wow i enjoy texting and I didn’t know you could have communicated with someone so fast in minutes while texting”.He also started using the internet on his phone to browse websites.My dad is a great example of someone who knew nothing about technology and now explore what it means to be introduced to the technological world.My dad now spends 5 to 6 hours a day texting and browsing websites.I am proud that he moved away from his old fashion ways and adapted a modern way of life.This goes to say that anyone no matter how old you are can become familiarize with technology and I will agree that texting is far easier than making a phone call.
